Dr Lawrence completed a Bachelor of Science at the University of Wales in 1988, then graduated in Dental Surgery with Honours from the University of Sydney in 2000, receiving the final year prize in prosthetic dentistry, the branch of dentistry concerned with restoring and replacing teeth. He has practised in both the United Kingdom and Australia.
His work covers all aspects of general dentistry. His clinical interests are root canal treatment, the care of the gums, crown and bridgework, and dental implants.
His approach is steady and considered, with an emphasis on long-term oral health and on explaining each treatment clearly before it begins.
Dental implant treatment is a surgical procedure and carries risks, including infection, nerve injury, sinus complications and failure of the implant to integrate with the bone. Results vary between individuals, and suitability depends on an individual assessment. Alternatives include bridges and dentures, and a second opinion is always reasonable before any surgical treatment.
